NEXTIMAGE® Overview

Based on the NASA World Wind open source engine, Apogee's 3-D visualisation and analysis system to derive decision level information from geospatial data NEXTIMAGE® is a secure and affordable 3D environment options. With the ability to import any geospatial data (GIS layers, Satellite and Aerial Imagery, Digital Elevation Models).

• NEXTIMAGE® Light – Includes all the features of WorldWind and some enhancements and data samples provided by Apogee in a convenient package.
• NEXTIMAGE® Pro – For high-end users, a dedicated service arrangement is available to support NEXTIMAGE® as a purpose specific decision making tool to monitor company assets, track GPS positions from fleets or personnel and automated warning and response notification, manage emergency situations, coordinate data acquisitions, provide situational awareness, or similar applications.

Additional plug-ins are available from this site to customize the package for your needs and interests.

• Advanced Layer Manager – Do you have many of your own image and shapefile layers? Then you need this plug-in, which allows you to organise the layers under your own headings, re-order their position in the stack and easily set display properties.
• Terrain Manager – The terrain in the light version is derived from the SRTM worldwide global terrain model. High accuracy terrain models are available for many parts of the world and these can be imported into NEXTIMAGE® using this plug-in. It supports byte, integer and floating point elevation data. When two or more elevation models are available for an area, this plug-in allows the user to switch the displayed model via the layer manager.
• Drawing Tool – This Plug-In allows on screen digitising of lines and polygons which can be shared with other NEXTIMAGE® users or exported to a Shapefile format.
• Fly Through Movie Recorder – Creating a 3D fly-through is easy with this plug-in. It allows you to predefine view points, which are replayed while recording the movie.
• Rising Water Levels – Ever wondered what impact rising sea levels will have in your area? This tool allows you to adjust the sea level and view the resulting inundation.
• Image Import Module for best resolution – In the light version you can import satellite or aerial images in JPEG format. While this results in efficient storage, some of the detail is lost due to compression. This plug-in allows the import of such images in lossless compression format to retain all image details for a perfect view.
• On-the-fly Image Enhancement – This plug-in allows you to adjust the contrast and brightness of individual layers within NEXTIMAGE®.
